Down Hill at Thunderhill

I commented that it is jarring to see a race car in such a pastoral scene.

John said, "Believe me it's not a pastoral moment inside the car. Not only is it downhill, but it's turning right and it's off-camber. Look at the set on the left side suspension. It is also reasonably quick there, like the top of 3rd gear (94 mph)."

"One is bracing with the left foot, has the right foot nailed to the floor on top of the gas pedal, turning the wheel right and tensed up trying to feel any symptom that the left side tires are about to lose traction."

"Appearances can be deceiving."
