Black Hawk Concours and Museum

There was a PCA Zone 7 concours at the Blackhawk Museum on Sep 7, 2003. We saw some nice Porsches. Prizes were won by both the 912 that entered. There was an interesting 356 daily driver and we went to the museum.


030907-3656 Several representative cars were shown in front of the museum. This is a nice setting.
030907-3643 Slate grey rules! Lisa's '69 won first place in full restoration. George's '67 won second in wash and shine.
030907-3647 In the full restoration class, the complete car is inspected and judged for condition, originality and cleanliness.

030907-3659 Asha is looking at a nice 1962 1600S 356.
030907-3662 The current owner purchased the car in 1965 for $2,895 and has used it as a daily driver since. It has been driven over 400,000 miles.
030907-3649 There were a couple of interesting cars in the display section. These cars were not judged. This one is a '91 911 with a custom body.
030907-3655 This is Ted French's 912. He was one of the judges on Lisa's car.


030907-3687 1963 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS Race Car. Designed by Ferdinand (Butzi) Porsche III the grandson of Porsche's founder. This was Porsche's first fiberglass car.
030907-3673 1966 Porsche 906 also known as the Carrera 6, designed by Ferdinand Piech, Ferry Porsche's nephew.
030907-3675 At it's first outing at the Daytona 24 hour endurance race, it placed first in class and 6th overall. This 906 was driven by Ben Pon and Vic Elford at the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans where they finished 3rd in class and 7th overall.
030907-3693 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS Prototype 2.7.
030907-3679 1980 Porsche 935 K3. This 935 was modified and prepared by Kremer Racing and finished 5th overall in the 1980 24 Hours of Le Mans driven by John Fitzpatrick, Brian Redman and Dick Barbour.
